Ian Beale is a fictional character and one of the central protagonists of the BBC soap opera show EastEnders; currently, he serves as the series' longest-serving character since originally debuting in it's first ever episode on 19 February 1985.
Throughout his duration as the show's longest-serving protagonist, Ian has often evolved into an anti-hero due to the character's highly-developed selfish nature. This continues to showcase in 2020 when he becomes the show's main antagonist after causing the death of his youngest son's rival, Denny Rickman Jr., which along with his other misdeeds triggered the events behind his own whodunit storyline: dubbed "Who Attacked Ian Beale?".
